Questions

Things people ask us

Every answer here is something we can stand behind today. Where we don’t know something, the answer says so.

How much do programs cost?

They're free. Some costs are genuinely unavoidable — AI platform usage, printing, and materials — and we cover those through grants, sponsorships, and community partners. If a fee is ever necessary, it covers only those direct costs, never instruction.

Does my child need coding experience?

No. Our introductory programs assume no prior experience with coding, AI, or technology. The first track in the Academy is built for complete beginners, and most of our programs are designed to start from zero.

What ages do you serve?

Children through adults. Which programs are open to which ages varies — some are for kids, some for adults, and some are designed for families to learn together. Each program page lists its intended age range.

Does my child need their own laptop?

We provide as many shared devices and materials as we can, and we don't want device ownership to become a barrier to participating. Some classes may suggest bringing a laptop or tablet if you have one — but never as a requirement to take part.

Where do programs take place?

We bring programs to places people already gather — libraries, schools, and community centers. Our first proposed pilot is with the Cliffside Park Free Public Library, which is currently under review. We have no permanent location of our own.

When can I sign up?

Nothing is open for registration yet. We're building our first programs now. Join the interest list and you'll hear from us as soon as something opens — that will be the first thing we announce.

Is Satori Foundation a 501(c)(3)?

Satori Foundation Inc. is a New Jersey nonprofit corporation. Our federal 501(c)(3) application is in progress. Until it is approved, we can't describe donations as tax-deductible, and we don't.

Can I donate?

We're not collecting donations online yet. If you'd like to support our work, email us at info@satorilearning.org — we'd genuinely like to talk about what funding makes possible. We'd rather have that conversation than put up a button before we can use it properly.

We're a library. How does a partnership work?

Satori provides the curriculum, instruction, materials, and technical setup. You provide a room, a display or projector, Wi-Fi, and help getting the word out. Start on the partners page, or email us and we'll talk it through.

Can I volunteer or mentor?

Yes, and we'd like to hear from you. We're especially interested in people who work with technology, engineering, science, or finance and are willing to share what they know with a room of curious people. Reach out through the get involved page.

Who teaches the programs?

We're assembling our teaching team now and will introduce them here as they join. We'd rather announce real people with real backgrounds than describe an average.

What results have you had so far?

None yet — we're a new organization and our first pilot is still under review. We're not going to publish success stories we haven't earned. When the first program runs, we'll report what actually happened, including what didn't work.
