Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this site — including the people most often left out of technology.
Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We chose 2.2 rather than the older 2.1 standard because it’s the current recommendation and it costs nothing extra to build in from the start.
This isn’t only about doing the right thing. We ask libraries, schools, and municipalities to host our programs, and those organizations have their own accessibility obligations. Our site should make their work easier, not harder.
What that means in practice
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, and focus is always visible.
- Text meets or exceeds the required colour contrast. We verified our palette against the standard rather than assuming it passed.
- Status information — what exists and what doesn’t — is written as text, never conveyed by colour alone.
- Every page works without JavaScript. This site is static HTML; the content does not depend on scripts running.
- Motion respects the system’s reduced-motion setting, and we don’t use animation decoratively.
- Pages use semantic headings and real landmarks, not styled boxes.
- Touch targets are at least 44×44 pixels, because our audience includes children and older adults.
Known limitations
We’d rather list these than claim perfection:
- We are not yet collecting form submissions online. Every form currently offers an email address instead, and says so plainly rather than showing a field that goes nowhere.
- The site is in English only. We know Cliffside Park and the surrounding area are home to many multilingual families. Translation is planned, and the site is built so it can be added without a rewrite.
- We haven’t yet tested with a full screen-reader matrix across every browser and platform combination.
Tell us when we get it wrong
If something on this site doesn’t work for you, we want to know, and we will fix it. Email info@satorilearning.org and describe what happened. You don’t need to know the technical term for the problem.
Assessment
This statement was written in October 2026. It describes a site that is actively being built, and it will be updated as the remaining limitations are resolved.
